When Robin Hannah invited me to the 2016 Don Matthews CZ World championships I was raring to go at the start of the year so I reckoned I needed a couple of good guys to travel and race in the event so I asked my friends Tom & Jeff Wright if they were interested without hesitation both were on board.
Flights were booked and ready to go. A couple weeks later I got the unbelievable news from Tom that Jeff had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease.
But with the typical positive attitude of Jeff he said still going to America to race. So we all headed of to San Francisco along with an army of Jeffs lifetime friends.
We had the assistance from some of the nicest people you could ever meet Robert Finnegan Charlie Finnegan & Eric Matthews who sorted Jeff with fantastic CZ to Race.
We had the time of our lives at this great event and made so many new friends I may have won the Trans am race overall but for me the real winner and the bravest man at the event was my friend Jeff Wright.
Jeff was also in his younger days a professional car racer in which he drove Indy Lights and Formula 5000 in Japan So now he has the biggest fight in his life and we wish him and his family the best to stay strong and positive.
Our good friend Jeff Wright RIP .
